The United Methodist Church Offers Four Types Of Membership:

Professing Membership is offered to all persons seeking to be saved from sin and desiring to be a believer in Jesus Christ. You may become a member of the church by Profession of Faith (through membership vows) and baptism, or Transfer of Letter from another Christian church.  If you have not been baptized, we will be glad to share with you what baptism means, and work with you on finding an appropriate way for you to take part in this means of grace.  We normally recognize baptism from another Christian denomination.

Baptized Membership is for baptized children and youth under 18 years of age who are not professing members, and those expressing an interest in membership and have been enrolled in confirmation preparation.  Parents are encouraged to pray about having their children baptized in a service of worship.  Children who have reached the sixth grade in school or are age 12 or older are invited to explore Christian faith through classes called "confirmation."

Affiliate Membership is for a member of The United Methodist Church residing for an extended period in this area but at a distance from the member’s home church and has requested to be enrolled as an affiliate member with our church.

Associate Membership is for a member of another denomination residing for an extended period in this area but at a distance from the member’s home church and has requested to be enrolled as an associate member.

Call the church office to make an appointment with the pastor to discuss membership.  540-921-1021 or email the church at pfumc@verizon.net
